MEET THE BAND
Detour 91 is a group of musicians between the ages of 16 and 18 who will captivate you with their soulful and lively tunes, strong musicianship and charismatic stage presence. They have performed in California, Chicago and Memphis since 2012 and play original and cover songs. Detour 91 has performed at the House of Blues in Anaheim, Voodoo Lounge and Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, B. B. King’s Restaurant and Hard Rock Cafe in Memphis and Buddy Guy’s “Legends” in Chicago. They have been the opening band for the late B. B. King (twice), Leon Russell, Smash Mouth, Steve Tyrell, Bobby Kimball, Eric Sardinas, Tab Benoit, Guitar Shorty, Janiva Magness and more.
Detour 91 won the Battle of the Bands in Anaheim, performed at the Orange County Family Justice Foundation Gala with Cheech Marin as the Master of Ceremony and represented the Los Angeles Blues Society at the 30th International Youth showcase in Memphis. Detour 91 performed at Fox 11 Good Day LA Coffee Shop Takeover at the Gypsy Den in Santa Ana and has recently opened for Colin Hay from Men At Work at the Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes. Detour 91 has been featured in the Orange County Register, Southland Blues Magazine, oHearlado and the Press Enterprise.
